Partners at a leading accountancy firm are celebrating this week after adding a new string to their bow with the launch of brand new business venture, BLA Consulting.

Gateshead-based Bell Anderson Chartered Accountants have launched the service as the newest arm of the business, offering specialist advice and guidance on business growth and development.

Specialising in profit and wealth improvement and tax solutions, BLA Consulting will build on the high quality accountancy services offered by Bell Anderson and is expected to create up to five new highly skilled jobs at the company.

David Bradshaw, will be heading up the new venture, alongside partners Michael Anderson and Geoff Little.

David joined Bell Anderson in July 2009, bringing over 30 years of experience to the table, having worked for the four largest international accountancy and professional services firms. Known in the industry as the ‘Big Four', his career has included working for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte Touche Tonhmatsu, and KMPG. David's last role was Director at Ernst Young in Newcastle.

He said: "This is a very exciting time for Bell Anderson. The launch of BLA Consulting presents the next natural step for the company and what it offers to the customer. Tough economic times mean that more than ever before, businesses are interested in maximising profit, cutting tax bills and improving personal wealth. BLA can help them to do this.

"My experience of the Big Four firms allows me to deliver something unique to the customer. My specialism is tax planning, but BLA Consulting is not just about tax and my colleagues have a major part to play in the development of our clients."

Using a Performance, Management and Improvement System (PMI), BLA aims to help businesses not only to survive the current recession, but come through the other side in a stronger financial position. As part of the new service, BLA will be hosting a range of free business seminars focussing on ways to strengthen cash flow and improve business performance.

The first, entitled ‘How to Beat the Recession and get an extra £2m', takes place on September 30 from 9-1pm at Muckle LLP Offices in Newcastle. For more information, please visit www.blaconsulting.co.uk, or call Karen Robinson on 0191 490 1994.
