Durham based Atom Bank, which launched in April this year has plans to revolutionise the face of banking in the UK thanks to a commitment to customer service and unique user experience. Atom, brainchild of Metro Bank founder Anthony Thomson and Mark Mullen, will deliver services using pioneering technology as part of their App. As a testament to efforts so far, Atom were named in the top 10 of leading global FinTech companies in a recent report by KPMG.

As a result of the specialist technology used, including facial and voice recognition as part of customer security and service delivery, Atom Bank aim to attract the best possible talent from across the UK into their developing Digital and Technology Division. Although a number of people have already been appointed, Atom Bank have announced they are to use the skills of North East recruitment specialists GEM Partnership to assist in sourcing the talent to join the Atom family.

Newcastle based GEM Partnership, recently recognised by the London Stock Exchange in their ‘Companies to Inspire Britain’ 2016 report, have been appointed following a competitive tender process, largely due to their knowledge of the specific digital and technology talent pool and their partnership-focused approach.

Having supported other companies like NCFE, Tombola and Performance Horizon to attract some of Europe’s best professionals, GEM Partnership has extensive experience in digital and technical recruitment. Moreover, by turning traditional professional recruitment tactics on their head through supporting clients actively to become employers of choice and delivering services in a dynamic manner, GEM’s track record speaks for itself for such a young company.

Lee Rankin, Managing Director, said: “We’re very much looking forward to supporting Atom Bank’s technology and digital recruitment drive. As an incredibly ambitious business and fantastic employer, we are very excited to be part of their plans. The calibre of candidates we are looking for, allied with the niche nature of the roles, requires a specialist approach with extensive reach. This type of recruitment is where GEM excels, and our track record of delivery comes as a result of the unique approach we take to every search project. Indeed, we believe that our delivery model is one of the reasons that we were recognised as an inspiring UK company by the London Stock Exchange in their most recent report”.

Mr Rankin goes on: “With Atom Bank, the task at hand is to engage proactively with the best people in the UK marketplace who have a desire to be part of a sector revolution, developing digital technology never used in the financial sector before; this is a challenging and thoroughly exciting brief. To ensure success we will be developing and nurturing a pipeline of talent whilst creating a real brand buzz. In choosing to partner with GEM, Atom Bank are assured of excellent outcomes; the highest calibre people with the best cultural synergy.
