E Responsibility Conference: staying safe online

Date: Wednesday 17th November 2010
Time: 9:30am - 3:00pm

Location: Gateshead College, Baltic Campus, Quarryfield Road, Baltic Business Quarter, NE8 3BE view map

As part of National Anti-Bullying Week (15 - 19 November) Gateshead College, in partnership with North East Fraud Forum and JISC RSC Northern, will be hosting a conference to explore various issues surrounding e safety.

Online safety is a key issue within educational institutions and businesses, with cyber bullying, grooming and internet fraud being hot topics. Employers are coming under more pressure to ensure that they have the necessary measures in place to protect themselves from fraud, and to ensure that their employees are acting responsibly online. From 2011, e safety will be part of the National Curriculum and now falls under Safeguarding in the current Ofsted inspection framework.

You will hear from speakers who are leading experts in the field, and have the opportunity to attend workshops and presentations throughout the day which will focus on the issues facing both employers and educational institutions. You'll also have the opportunity to network at our exhibition of employers and support agencies, in addition to the scheduled sessions.

Further information regarding speakers and the content of the day will be confirmed in September.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Car parking facilities are available.

Cost: £55 + vat per person. Book before 17 September 2010 and get 2 for 1 on tickets.

Please note: tickets are non - refundable.
